Uses

Phenoxyethyl-iso-valerate has found some use in perfume compositions as a modifier in Foug~res, Chypres, etc., since it blends so well with Oakmoss and Lavender, Coumarin and Amylsalicylate, etc.

Production Methods

Phenoxyethyl-iso-valerate can be produced from Ethyleneglycol monomethylether (Phenylcellosolve) with iso-Valerie acid by esterification under azeotropic conditions.
