以2-巯基乙基胺盐酸盐和1,4-氯甲基-2-二甲胺噻唑盐酸盐为原料合成2-(二甲氨基甲基)-4-(2-氨乙基硫甲基)噻唑的一般步骤：将2-氨基乙醇盐酸盐（半胱胺盐酸盐，520 g，4.5 mol）悬浮于水（500 mL）中。将该悬浮液冷却至5℃，并在5-10℃下缓慢加入氢氧化钠溶液（45% w/w，870 mL；14.7 mol）。随后，向该悬浮液中加入硫酸羟胺（100 g；0.6 mol），并持续搅拌。另将4-氯甲基-2-二甲基氨基甲基噻唑盐酸盐（1000 g；4.43 mol）溶解于水（1250 mL）中，制备成溶液。在保持温度低于10℃的条件下，将该溶液缓慢加入上述悬浮液中，并于10℃下继续反应1小时。反应进程通过定性HPLC监测确认。反应完成后，将反应混合物用水（2000 mL）稀释，加热至40-45℃，并用甲苯（2×2000 mL）进行萃取。合并甲苯萃取物，在40-45℃下用活性炭处理30分钟。处理后的溶液通过HYFLO床过滤以去除活性炭，滤液在60℃减压条件下蒸发除去甲苯，最终得到910 g目标产物，收率为88%。
