10-去甲氧基链黑霉素 是 Ras 法呢基转移酶 (Ras Farnesyltransferase) 的抑制剂，IC50 为 21 μM。10'-Desmethoxystreptonigrin 是一种具有抗菌活性的广谱抗生素。10'-Desmethoxystreptonigrin 对 P388 白血病具有抗肿瘤活性，且无显著的细胞毒性 (LD50 为 8.8 mg/kg)。
