Also obtained by isomerization of 3-chloro-4-hydroxypropiophenone with aluminium chloride at 180–200° for 1 h (24%)
Also obtained by tert-butyl group elimination of 5-tert-butyl-3-chloro-2- hydroxypropiophenone with aluminium chloride at 190° for 15 min (80%).
