| Occurrence | A bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid, thaligosidine has been obtained from the roots of Thalictrum rugosum Ait. (syn. T. Glaucum Desf.). It forms colourless needles when crystallized from MeOH and is laevorotatory with a specific rotation of [α]D -45°(c 0.26, MeOH). This alkaloid has been characterized as the O,O-diethyl ether, m.p. 198-200°e. |
