Calcium/Sodium PVM/MA Copolymer is a synthetic polymer prepared from relatively small monomer compounds. It is a salt component of PVM/MA Copolymer. PVM/MA Copolymer is a resin composed of polyvinyl methyl ether (PVM) and maleic anhydride or maleic acid (MA) monomer. The salts and esters used in the manufacture of PVM/MA copolymers modify the solubility of the copolymers so that they can be incorporated into cosmetic and personal care product formulations.

Calcium/Sodium PVM/MA Copolymer is primarily used as a film-forming agent and hair styling polymer in cosmetics and personal care products. It is commonly used in the formulation of hairsprays, wave sets and other hair care products, as well as mascara and skin care products. It produces a continuous film on the skin, hair and/or nails, and can also provide long-lasting hairstyling.
