Uses
N-Benzoyl-D-arginine is a derivative of D-Arginine (A769515), an unnatural isomer of L-Arginine (A769505), used to inhibit glutamate-induced nitric oxide production in rats. N-Benzoyl-D-arginine is also used in column chromatography in inhibition studies.
Definition
ChEBI: N-benzoyl-D-arginine is a member of the class of N-benzoyl-D-arginines that is D-arginine in which one of the hydrogens of attached to the alpha-amino group has been replaced by a benzoyl group. It is a member of benzamides and a member of N-benzoyl-D-arginines. It is an enantiomer of a N-benzoyl-L-arginine. It is a tautomer of a N-benzoyl-D-arginine zwitterion.
