Questin is an antibacterial agent isolated from marine Aspergillus flavipes. Questin exhibits antibacterial activity against V. harveyi, V. anguillarum, V. cholerae, and V. parahemolyticus with MIC values of 31.25 μg/mL, 62.5 μg/mL, 62.5 μg/mL, and 125 μg/mL[1].

ChEBI: Questin is a dihydroxyanthraquinone that is 1,6-dihyroxy-9,10-anthraquinone which is substituted by a methyl group at position 3 and a methoxy group at position 8. It is functionally related to an emodin. It is a conjugate acid of a questin-2-olate.
