Description
Alglucerase, a modified version of glucocerebrosidase, is an orphan drug for the
treatment of Type I Gaucher’s disease. It acts as a replacement for the natural enzyme.
In human studies, alglucerase increased hemoglobin levels and reduced the size of the
liver and spleen.
