Tembotrione is one of the pesticides found in surface waters. It can also be found as pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables.

It is a post-emergence herbicide used (particul rly in conjunction with the herbicide safener cyprosulfamide) for the control of a wide range of broad-leaved and grassy weeds in corn and other crops.
