Uses

5-Ph-IAA-AM is an eggshell-permeable 5-Ph-IAA (HY-134653) analog which contains an acetoxymethyl (AM) group. 5-Ph-IAA-AM affords an enhanced protein degradation in laid embryos. 5-Ph-IAA-AM can be used to disclosure the roles of proteins in C. elegans, in particular those that are involved in embryogenesis and development, through temporally controlled protein degradation[1][2][3].

in vivo

5-Ph-IAA-AM (50 μM, 60 min) induces better protein degradation in the C. elegans embryos than does 5-Ph-IAA (50 μM, 60 min)^[1].
5-Ph-IAA-AM (50 mM, injection, a single dose for 0-50 min)-injected embryos reproducibly fails to form ventral furrows or undergo any other gastrulation processes, which is consistent with loss of myosin function in early Drosophila embryo^[2]^[3].

Result:	The fluorescence of 5-Ph-IAA-AM-injected embryos was found to drop to its minimum within 30-50 min after the injection.
