Tuliposide is a prohapten contained in tulip bulbs and
in alstroemerias (Tulipa spp.; Alstroemeria spp.; Lilium
spp.). It is rapidly hydrolyzed to Tulipalin A and
represents a common occupational problem among
workers in the European tulip industry.
