Acyl-coenzyme A:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) isozymes are involved with cellular cholesterol esterification and regulate intestinal cholesterol absorption and hepatic lipoprotein secretion. Terpendole C inhibits ACAT1 and ACAT2 isozymes.
