Likewise, the injection of annetocin into the leech Whitmania pigra leads to egg-laying behavior.Annetocin evokes constructions of the nephridia and gut of the earthworm, and the injection of annetocin into the leech induces the reduction of body weight.Furthermore, another OXT/ VP superfamily peptide was isolated from a leech, Hirudo verbana, and was named hirudotocin.The injection of hirudotocin into the leech induces a stereotypical twisting that is instrumental to aligning gonopores in preparation for copulation.;
