It has been used in the synthesis of lipid bilayers to quantify the effects of amphiphilic compounds, such as lysophosphatidylcholine (1-palmitoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-PC; ) and lysoplasmenylcholine, on membrane dynamics.
