(A) 1 mol of 2-chloro-2',5'-difluoroacetophenone, 1.2 mol of 1,2,3-triazole, 0.15 mol of cuprous iodide (CuI), 1.5 mol of potassium carbonate, and 0.8 L of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) were sequentially added to the reactor, and the reaction was heated to 80 °C and stirred for 10 hours. The progress of the reaction was monitored by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and after confirming the completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to recover DMF and the residue was recrystallized with ethyl acetate to afford the first product 1-(2,5-difluorophenyl)-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)ethanone in white solid form in 73% yield.
