Occurrence
Reported found in nature: Lavandula; Prumus armeniaca, Prumus persica, and Salvia sclarea, peach, oil of
lime, petitgrain and sour cherry.
Uses
LINALYL FORMATE is mainly used to formulate flavorings such as apricot, peach, pineapple, and apple. When used in appropriate amounts with linalyl acetate, it has a brightening and sweetening effect. When used in citrus, it can enhance the aroma of bergamot and lemon. It is also suitable for formulas of orchid, frangipani, cologne, and certain floral, aldehyde, and fruity fragrances. It can also be used in edible flavorings such as pineapple, apricot, peach, apple, and various berry flavorings.

By esterification of linalool with formic acid.
