定義

本品は、平成15年厚労省令第126号に示される赤色230号の(1)又はそのアルミニウムレーキである。

溶解性

水溶状 : 0.1g/100mlエタノール溶状 : 0.1g/100ml水及びエタノールに溶ける。

解説

エオシンYとエオシンBが知られている．【Ⅰ】エオシンY：C20H6O5Br4Na2(691.83)．アシッドレッド87ともいう．フルオレセインの臭素化で合成される青味がかった赤色の結晶．濃い水溶液は深赤褐色を，薄い水溶液は黄赤色を呈する．薄い水溶液およびアルコール溶液は，強い緑色蛍光を発する．顔料，染料，赤色インキなどに使用される．【Ⅱ】エオシンB：C20H6O9N2Br2Na2(624.05)．アシッドレッド91ともいう．4′,5′-ジブロモフルオレセインのニトロ化によって合成される赤色の粉末．水溶液は緑色蛍光を発する．羊毛や綿の染料に用いられるほか，細胞核や筋繊維の顕微鏡標本着色用染料として用いられる．"

用途

染色用、試液調製原料。

用途

スイスのガイギー社製の酸性染料。帯青赤色結晶または褐色粉末で，水に溶け褐色ないし黄赤色を呈し緑色ケイ光を発する。堅牢度については洗濯に良好，日光に弱い。吸着指示薬またはケイ光指示薬として分析に用いられるほか赤インキの原料，光増感剤として光化学反応にも用いられる。エオシンの鉛塩はエオシンレーキとしてクレヨン，タイプリボンや印刷インキに用いられるが，耐光性に難がある。

酸性の染料で，動物性繊維を染色したり，細胞の試料の染色にも用いられる．またかつては食用色素としても使われた。

特色

キサンテン染料の特色は蛍光を有するきわめて鮮明な色相をもつことで，繊維用として，耐光堅牢度は低いが美麗な染色物を得るため現在でも使用されている。エオシンはフルオレセインを水溶液またはエチルアルコール溶液とし，臭素を加えテトラブロム化したのちナトリウム塩とする。水にはよく溶け，蛍光のある赤色を呈する。エチルアルコールにはやや溶けにくい。

使用

Eosin is most often used as a counterstain to haematoxylin in H&E (haematoxylin and eosin) staining. H&E staining is one of the most commonly used techniques in histology.

定義

ChEBI: An organic sodium salt that is 2',4',5',7'-tetrabromofluorescein in which the carboxy group and the phenolic hydroxy group have been deprotonated and the resulting charge is neutralised by two sodium ions.

製造方法

安全性プロファイル

Poison by intravenous and intraperitoneal routes. Moderately toxic by ingestion. Questionable carcinogen with experimental tumorigenic data. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Brand NazO. See also BROMIDES.

純化方法

Dissolve it in the minimum volume of H2O (1g/mL), filter and add EtOH until separation of salt is complete. Filter the solid off, wash it with absolute EtOH, then Et2O and dry it first in air, then at 100o. It is used for staining blood cells and for estimating traces of Ag.
