Nonylphenyl-polyethyleneglycol acetate, also known as NPOGA, is a novel antimicrobial agent that has been shown to be effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is also capable of inhibiting the growth of fungi. NPOGA is a lipid-soluble compound that can penetrate the cell membrane and disrupt the function of membrane proteins. It has been shown to inhibit both bacterial protein synthesis and mammalian cell protein synthesis in vitro models. NPOGA has also been found to promote wound healing by increasing the production of epidermal growth factor, collagen, and other growth factors in vivo models. This product may be used for regenerative medicine applications as well as for translation validation studies.
