This simple base occurs in several plant species, including Acacia rigidula, A.
roemeriana, Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus, Coryphantha macromeris var.
runyonii and Prosopis glandulosa. The alkaloid has been isolated as the crystalline
hydrochloride and the structure confirmed by comparison with a synthetic
specimen.
