Biotin alkyne (CAS# 1006592-45-5) is used in the bioorthogonal labeling of human prostate cancer tissue slice cultures for glycoproteomics. Biotin alkyne is also seen in the direct in-gel fluorescence detection and cellular imaging of O-GlcNAc-modified proteins.
