(20S)-3β,20-Bis(dimethylamino)-4α,14-dimethyl-9,19-cyclo-5α-pregn-6-en-16α-ol

Buxus sempervirens var. bullatus elaborates this alkaloid which furnishes colourless needles from Me2CO. It has a specific rotation of [α]²⁵_D - 99° (c 0.40, EtOH). Catalytic hydrogenation yields the dihydro derivative with m.p. 215-7°C and specific rotation of [α]²⁵_D+ 37° (c 0.45, EtOH).
