Biodegradable Plastics / PIC is a compound polymerised from isosorbide and belongs to the class of bio-based polycarbonates. It possesses extremely high transparency, good thermal stability and mechanical properties, and is commonly used as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional petroleum-based polycarbonate (PC).
Biodegradable Plastics / PIC offers excellent optical properties, scratch resistance, weather resistance and high abrasion resistance, whilst retaining the high impact strength and heat resistance of traditional polycarbonate (PC). It serves as a high-performance alternative to glass and is widely used in electronic devices, automotive bodywork, and interior and exterior trim materials. Furthermore, it is also used in food and beverage packaging (such as water bottles, storage containers and cutlery), medical and healthcare equipment (such as syringes) and optical devices (such as mobile phones, tablets and spectacle lenses).
