Use：: Chemical depilatory agent is a kind of agent being capable of making the hair become soft and lower its strength. It is able to erase or wash off the hair within 2~6min t. As the composition of the hair shaft is similar to the skin, it is inevitable that chemical depilatory agent will cause damage to the skin, so depilatory agents are listed as special-purpose cosmetics. Thioglycolic acid type depilatory agent is currently the major depilatory agent, which is gradually replacing the sulfide depilatory agent. The active components of this type of depilatory agent are thioglycolic acid and its salts, mercaptopropionic acid and its salts, mercapto lactic acid and salts. Considering the performance and price, it mainly applied of thioglycolic acid and its salts as hair active depilatory components. The application of some Swelling Agents can help to speed up the depilatory effect of the thiol-based depilatories, thereby reducing skin irritation. Such swelling agents include melamine, dicyandiamide or the mixture of the two (w = 0.5% to 2%), thiourea, potassium thiocyanate, guanidine thiocyanate and PVP copolymer.
