Uses
Iceland moss extract (Cetraria islandica) is used in cosmetics for its tonic properties, it can also be incorporated for its cleansing, emollient, skin-smoothing, and skin-soothing capacities. Despite its name, this plant is not a moss but rather a lichen containing about 70 percent lichen starch, plus fumaric acid, oxalic acid, cetrarin, and licheno-stearic acid.
