Uses

Tetrakis(acetonitrile)palladium(II) Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonate) is an palladium catalyst used in reactions such as the copolymerization of propene and carbon monoxide.

Synthesis

Metal palladium oxide and deionized water were mixed, and an aqueous solution of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid was added dropwise at room temperature, 80 for one hour, cooled down, filtered, rinsed, and the filtrate was concentrated to obtain a solid, dried under vacuum at 50 C., and activated at 260 C. The preparation afforded tetrakis(acetonitrile)palladium(II) bis(trifluoromethanesulfonic acid).
