Uses

Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate can be used:

• As a silicate electrolyte in plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coating.
• For the synthesis of sintered mullite ceramics (3Al₂O₃·2SiO₂) by the co-precipitation method.
• As a source of silica for the synthesis of silica-zirconia composites for the chromatographic applications.
• For the synthesis of photo-Fenton catalyst, nontronite, for the degradation of Rhodamine B.
• As a starting material for the synthesis of zeolite NaA layers on α-Al₂O₃ supports.

Uses

Sodium Metasilicate Pentahydrate is used in method for preparing cement accelerator containing Aluminum Sulfate.

Application

Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate can be used as a fireproofing compound; laundry, dairy, metal and floor cleaning products; paper deinking; carbonated beverage bottle cleaning; insecticides, fungicides and antimicrobial compounds; chemical intermediates for silica gel catalysts; additives for soaps and synthetic detergents; bases and bleaching aids for tableware and laundry detergent formulations.
