6-Aminoquinoline was used as an internal standard in determining serum nicotine and cotinine simultaneously by using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-fluorometric detection with a postcolumn ultraviolet-photoirradiation system. Uses
6-Aminoquinoline is used in the preparation of diaminopyrimidine derivatives as 5-HT4 receptor agonists.
Purification Methods
It is purified by column chromatography on a SiO2 column using CHCl3/MeOH (4:1) as eluent. It crystallises from *C6H6 or *C6H6/pet ether and is an irritant.
