Description
Delapril is a new angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor useful in the treatment
of essential hypertension. Orally administered delapril is a prodrug which is de-esterified
to its active diacid metabolite. In hypertensive patients delapril significantly decreased
systolic blood pressure and ACE activity 24 hours after dosing without affecting
endogeneous creatinine clearance.
