Description
The molecular structure of O-Phenylphenoxyethyl Acrylate contains an aromatic nucleus. Generally speaking, the acrylic ester polymer, or the multipolymer in molecular structure, contains an aromatic nucleus because it has excellent transparency and a high refractive index and is widely used in optical material in industries such as optical resin, optical coating, optical adhesive, optical lens, and glasses manufactures. Because these fields all need water-white goods, they need monomers that have low coloring and are even colorless.
Synthesis
2-(2-biphenylyloxy)ethanol and acrylic acid are subjected to an esterification reaction under the protection of nitrogen by adopting cyclohexane as a solvent and adopting an organic acid as a catalyst in the presence of a polymerization inhibitor and a reduction agent. After completing the esterification reaction, alkali washing, water washing drying, and reduced pressure solvent removal are adopted to obtain the O-Phenylphenoxyethyl Acrylate, wherein the amount of the reduction agent is 0.1-2 wt% of the total weight of 2-(2-biphenylyloxy)ethanol and acrylic acid.
