Uses
11H-Benz[bc]aceanthrylene is used in research of carcinogenic activity of methylene-bridged derivatives of benz[a]anthracene. No carcinogenic action was observed. As a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), it is considered as a pollutant.

11H-Benz[bc]aceanthrylene gave positive results when
tested for carcinogenicity in one initiation–promotion
study on mouse skin, but gave negative results after
