Synthesis
Preparation method of Span 85: 10g of sorbitol and 10g of oleic acid in a blender pre-mixed and stirred, add 0.03g of neutral catalyst, at a rate of 2 / min heating to 220 , continue to stir, when the acid value (mgKOH / g) ≤15, cool down and discharge, to get a yellow oily liquid, the test results: hydroxyl value (mgKOH / g) of 65, the saponification value of 170, moisture ≤1.5%. Saponification value is 170, moisture ≤1.5%.
