At one time, dibutyl succinate is used as a solvent for crystalline
pet-fume materials. Now of little or no interest
for such purpose. Has some insect repellant
effect.

It is a mobile liquid that is soluble in alcohol, benzene, and ether,
but insoluble in water. Its melting and boiling points are -29
and 274.5°C, respectively. The flash point is 275°F.

Dibutyl succinate especially against biting flies of cattle, household ants and roaches.
