Chemical Properties
white fine crystalline powder
Uses
N-Carbamoyl-DL-aspartic acid, is a useful biochemical for proteomics research. It is also used as a carbamate derivative which serves as an intermediate in pyrimidine biosynthesis.
Definition
ChEBI: An N-carbamoylamino acid that is aspartic acid with one of its amino hydrogens replaced by a carbamoyl group.
Biological Activity
Metabolite of pyrimidine biosynthesis, alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism.
in vivo
N-Carbamoyl-DL-aspartic acid (350 mg/kg; subcutaneous injection; twice daily; for 18 days) shows antitumor activity in a murine Lewis lung carcinoma model[2].
| Animal Model: | Male B6D2Fl mice were subcutaneously injected Lewis lung carcinoma cells[2] |
| Dosage: | 350 mg/kg |
| Administration: | Subcutaneous injection; twice daily; for 18 days |
| Result: | Inhibited antitumor activity and toxicity induced by N-phosphonacetyl-L-aspartate (PALA). |
