Chemical Properties
Ethyl permethrin is a colorless and transparent liquid, bp93~94℃/101pa, 78~88℃/27pa, n20D 1.4833, relative density 1.1170, insoluble In water, soluble in benzene, toluene, chloroform and other organic solvents.
Uses
Ethyl 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1-cyclopropanecarboxylate is an important intermediate of pyrethroids and can be used to prepare permethrin, cypermethrin, beta-cypermethrin, transfluthrin, cyfluthrin, etc.
Synthesis
Condensation of isobutylene and chloral under the catalysis of AlCl3 to form a enol, then acetylation, zinc powder reduction and acid-catalyzed isomerization to obtain conjugated dienes, and finally combined with diazoacetic acid Methyl ester (ethyl ester) reacts under the catalysis of copper powder to obtain ethyl 3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethyl-1-cyclopropanecarboxylate.
