First Aid Measures

Ingestion
The possible benefit of early removal of some ingested material by cautious gastric lavage must be weighed against potential complications of bleeding or perforation. Activated charcoal activated charcoal binds most toxic agents and can decrease their systemic absorption if administered soon after ingestion. Activated charcoal: administer charcoal as a slurry (240 ml water/30 g charcoal). Usual dose: 25 to 100 g in adults/adolescents.
Inhalation
Move patient to fresh air. Monitor for respiratory distress. If cough or difficulty breathing develops, evaluate for respiratory tract irritation, bronchitis, or pneumonitis. Administer oxygen and assist ventilation as required. Treat bronchospasm with beta2 agonist and corticosteroid aerosols.
Skin
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash exposed area with soap and water. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Launder clothing before reuse.
Eyes
Irrigate exposed eyes with copious amounts of tepid water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation, pain, swelling, lacrimation, or photophobia persist, the patient should be seen in a health care facility.

Handling and Storage

Storage
Keep closed in a cool, dry location.
Handling
Do not wear contact lenses. Avoid contact with sking, eyes and clothings.

Hazards Identification

Inhalation
Causes irritation to mucous membranes.
Skin
Irritation. Harmful if absorbed.
Eyes
Redness, pain.

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

Personal Protection
Goggles, impermeable gloves and apron, protective clothing and boots when handling the undiluted product.
Respirators
OSHA approved respirator.
Exposure Effects
The toxological properties of this substance have not been fully investigated.
Poison Class

Fire Fighting Measures

Fire Fighting
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Use agent most appropriate to extinguish fire.

Accidental Release Measures

Small spills/leaks
Evacuate area. Wear appropriate protective equipment. Ventilate area. Sweep up and place in a appropriate container. Wash contaminated surfaces to remove any residue.

Stability and Reactivity

Stability
Stable at normal temperatures and pressures.
Incompatibilities
Strong oxidizing agents.
Decomposition
When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides.
