First Aid Measures

Ingestion
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately. Do NOT induce vomiting. If conscious and alert, rinse mouth and drink 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Ingestion
Seek medical attention. If individual is drowsy or unconscious, do not give anything by mouth; place individual on the left side with the head down. Contact a physician, medical facility, or poison control center for advice about whether to induce vomiting. If possible, do not leave individual unattended.
Inhalation
Get medical aid immediately. Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. Do not use mouth-to-mouth respiration if victim ingested or inhaled the substance; induce artificial respiration with the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device.
Inhalation
If symptoms develop, move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. Keep person warm and quiet; seek immediate medical attention.
Inhalation
May cause respiratory tract irritation. May cause irritation of the mucous membranes.
Skin
May cause skin irritation. Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Substance is readily absorbed through the skin.
Skin
Flush skin with large amounts of soap and water for at least 15 minutes. At the same time, remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
Skin
Get medical aid immediately. Immediately flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse.
Eyes
If symptoms develop, move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. Flush eyes gently with water while holding eyelids apart. If symptoms persist or there is any visual difficulty, seek medical attention.
Eyes
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.
Eyes
Causes mild eye irritation.

Handling and Storage

Storage
Keep containers tightly closed. Store in a cool, dry area away from incompatible substances.
Storage
Keep tightly closed in a cool place in a tightly closed container.
Handling
Wash thoroughly after handling. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Use only in a chemical fume hood.
Handling
Containers of this material may be hazardous when emptied. Since emptied containers retain product residues (vapor, liquid, and/or solid), all hazard precautions given in the data sheet must be observed.

Hazards Identification

Ingestion
May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May be harmful if swallowed.
Inhalation
Irritating substances may induce pulmonary edema or pneumonitis. Embolization of insolouble material may occur.
Skin
May cause mild skin irritation. Symptoms may include redness and burning of skin.
Eyes
Can cause eye irritation. Symptoms include stinging, tearing, redness, and swelling of eyes.
Ingestion
Swallowing small amounts of this material during normal handling is not likely to cause harmful effects. Swallowing large amounts may be harmful.
Hazards
Contact with metals may evolve flammable hydrogen gas.
Hazards
Dusts can form explosive mixtures in air. Never use welding or cutting torch on or near drum (even empty) because product (even just residue) can ignite explosively.

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection

Personal Protection
Chemical splash goggles in compliance with OSHA regulations are advised; however, OSHA regulations also permit other type safety glasses. Whre chemical resistant gloves. To prevent repeated or prolonged skin contact, wear impervious clothing and boots.
Personal Protection
Eyes: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166. Skin: Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin exposure. Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
Respirators
If needed, use a NIOSH/MSHA jointly approved dust respirator.
Respirators
A respiratory protection program that meets OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2 requirements or European Standard EN 149 must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant a respirator's use.
Exposure Effects
Symptoms of exposure to this material through breathing, swallowing, and/or passage of the material through the skin may include: stomach or intestinal upset (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) irritation (nose, throat, airways).

Fire Fighting Measures

Flash Point
81
Fire Fighting
Extinguish fire using alcohol foam, water fog, carbon dioxide, dry chemical. Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus with a full facepiece operated in the positive pressure demand mode with appropriate turn-out gear and chemical resistant personal protective equipment.
Fire Fighting
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. To extinguish fire use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or appropriate foam.
Fire Potential
Non-combustible, substance itself does not burn but may decompose upon heating to produce corrosive and/or toxic fumes.

Accidental Release Measures

Small spills/leaks
Clean up spills immediately, using the appropriate protective equipment. Sweep up, then place into a suitable container for disposal.
Small spills/leaks
Small Spill - Sweep up material for disposal or recovery. Large Spill - Shovel material into containers. Thoroughly sweep area of spill to clean up any residual material.

Stability and Reactivity

Stability
Stable in air.
Stability
Stable under normal temperatures and pressures.
Incompatibilities
Strong oxidizing agents, strong acids.
Incompatibilities
Strong oxidizing agents.
Disposal Code
9
Decomposition
Ammonia, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, various hydrocarbons.
Decomposition
Nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.
Combustion Products
Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.
