DL-Methionine is an essential nonpolar α-amino acid. The DL-Methionine molecule encompasses two stereoisomers, namely D-methionine and L-methionine, each possessing distinct chemical properties. As an essential amino acid, DL-Methionine plays a crucial role in protein, lipid, and nucleic acid synthesis. Additionally, DL-Methionine is involved in the regulation of gene expression.
