Application
Diethyl maleate is a maleate ester formed by the formal condensation of two carboxyl groups of maleic acid with ethanol. Diethyl maleate (DEM) is a sulfhydryl-reactive α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound that depletes glutathione (GSH) in exposed cells.
