Uses

It also contains ascorbic acid, thereby supporting early claims of bleaching properties. extract from the fruit was recommended for use on sunburned areas to soothe the skin. Both the leaves and the fruit were in early pharmacopoeias; however, there is no scientific evidence of benefit or harm.
